Casemiro: We feel SORRY for our World Cup opponents

CASEMIRO REVEALED the Brazilian squad have joked that they feel ‘sorry’ for their opponents at the World Cup, given their incredible strength in depth.

Brazil backed up their billing as one of the pre-tournament favourites in Qatar by earning a dominant victory over Serbia in their first group game.

Tottenham forward Richarlison scored twice and coach Tite was able to call upon Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Antony and Rodrygo from the substitutes bench.

There are concerns over talisman Neymar’s fitness but Casemiro reaffirmed that the quality runs deep in the Brazilian squad.

“The importance of Neymar is inevitable,” Casemiro told reporters in Qatar.

“We have to be sincere in that he’s our great player, he’s the star of this team.

“He’s the one who can make the difference but we have other players who are in correspondence.

“There’s Vini, there’s Rafinha, there’s Richarlison, there’s Jesus.

“From the back we joked, sometimes it even makes you feel sorry for the opponent.

“You have Rafinha, take out Rafinha and you have Antony.

“Richarlison then Jesus or Martinelli or Rodrygo.”

Brazil face Switzerland in their second group game this afternoon and with Neymar absent, Tite will have plenty of options to choose from as his replacement.
