De Zerbi favourite to be next Man City boss after Guardiola leaves but Arteta also features in odds

Former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is currently the bookies’ favourite to take over from Pep Guardiola at Manchester City once the Spaniard leaves the club.

William Hill make the Italian 4/1 favourite to replace Guardiola, who has just a year left on his current contract at the club and is expected to leave once it expires.

He is followed by the manager of Girona, who are part of City Football Group, Michel, having guided the Spanish side to an unexpected third-placed finish in La Liga this season and is priced at 6/1 to make the move to Manchester.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso is 8/1, meanwhile, whose side went unbeaten in the Bundesliga this season, winning the title as well as the DFB Pokal.

Sporting’s Ruben Amorim, new Bayern Munich boss and former City captain Vincent Kompany and France legend Zinedine Zidane are all priced at 10/1 with the bookmaker, while current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is listed at 12/1.

Arteta worked as Guardiola’s assistant at Man City before leaving the club to take over at Arsenal.
