There are plenty of big name managers available for hire this summer with many clubs still on the lookout for a new face in the dugout.
Some of the world’s biggest clubs have either recently hired or are still on the lookout for new managers, and there could be more who opt for a change in the coming weeks.
With that in mind, here are some of the top managers currently out of work…
Mauricio Pochettino
The former Chelsea boss left the club by mutual consent after just a season at the club.
He guided the club back to European football thanks to an excellent run of form to end the season but differences with the ownership led to his departure.
The former Tottenham and PSG boss is now on the lookout for a new role and will no doubt have plenty of interested suitors given his track record of improving young players.
Thomas Tuchel
Tuchel left Bayern Munich following a disappointing campaign which saw the club finish third in the Bundesliga and fail to win any silverware.
He has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world and despite last season’s failure, is proven when it comes to winning trophies and will surely be back in a job sooner rather than later.
Graham Potter
The Englishman has been out of work since leaving Chelsea last year and appears to be waiting for what he feels is the right opportunity, having been linked with plenty of clubs of late.
Potter’s time at Chelsea did not go to plan but his work at Brighton will surely encourage a club to give him an opportunity to rebuild his managerial career.
Roberto De Zerbi
De Zerbi’s exit from Brighton following the end of the season came as a huge surprise and while his most recent campaign failed to reach the heights of his first year at the club, his bold style of play and ability to implement it quickly is an attractive proposition.
Massimiliano Allegri
Announcing Allegri’s departure, Juventus said the decision came following “certain behaviours during and after the Coppa Italia final that the club deemed incompatible with the values of Juventus and the behaviour that those who represent it should have.”
Whether or not it impacts his employment opportunities remains to be seen, but Allegri has a record of success in his coaching career having won six Serie A titles.
Zinedine Zidane
Zidane has not held a managerial role since leaving Real Madrid in 2021 where he won two league titles and three Champions League trophies across two spells in charge at the club. It would take a big opportunity to tempt him back into management.
David Moyes
The 61-year-old left West Ham following a five-year spell at the club after returning to the London Stadium in 2019. He won the Europa Conference League with the Hammers in 2023 and has consistently achieved top-half Premier League finishes with the club.
Steve Cooper
Achieved promotion with Nottingham Forest before keeping them in the Premier League but left last season after a poor run of results. Has been linked with plenty of jobs of late and a return to management soon looks likely.
Maurizio Sarri
The former Napoli, Chelsea, Juventus and Lazio boss left the latter in March and will likely have to settle for a job outside of Europe’s elite if he is to return to management.
Niko Kovac
Ex-Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac most recently managed Wolfsburg following a spell at Monaco. He has failed to reach the heights he hit earlier on in his managerial career but is still young and has plenty left to offer.
Gennaro Gattuso
The Italian has held plenty of managerial jobs in his career so far, most recently at Marseille. He won the Coppa Italia with Napoli in 2020 but a lack of longevity when it comes to the jobs he has held is a concern.
Frank Lampard
A dismal spell in caretaker charge of Chelsea did not do his stock a lot of good, but the former England midfielder is keen on a return to management and his reputation in the game will be attractive to some clubs in need of a new boss.
