Alisson and Jota out for Liverpool ahead of busy fixture schedule

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp confirmed that both Alisson and Diogo Jota are out for the foreseeable future. The Liverpool pair picked up injuries during the 1-1 draw with Manchester City last weekend.

Liverpool are preparing for their Europa League tie against LASK at Anfield. A win would send Klopp’s side one step closer to the knock-out stages, but will be without two more key players.

Liverpool host Fulham on Sunday in the Premier League before travelling to Sheffield United and Crystal Palace. It would appear backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher will have a run in the starting eleven.

“Both are out (Alisson and Jota). Ali is a bit lesser, so we have to see. Not day by day he cannot play tomorrow or Sunday probably not the week after, should be kind of okay”, said Klopp.

“Diogo will take a little bit longer, do not know exactly, but it is a bit more severe. Have to see..”

Liverpool enter a busy run of fixtures, but will be without their number one keeper. Liverpool will be hoping the Brazilian is back in time for December home games against Manchester United and Arsenal.

“In this busy time we need all the boys available. We have already a lot not available. Thiago and Robbo are out…Diogo and Ali. That is massive.

“It would be great if nothing else would happen! But that’s unlikely. We have to share the intensity between the group.”
