Ruben Amorim says goalkeeper Andre Onana is available to be part of the Manchester United squad for the game against Fulham – but would not confirm whether he will play.
Onana was left out of the squad in favour of Altay Bayindir for United’s opening game, but Amorim made it clear that the Cameroonian is ready for the upcoming fixture.
“Onana is ready to play like last week, so we will see in the game who is going to be the goalkeeper,” Amorim said.
Several players could depart United before the transfer window shuts, including Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Rasmus Hojlund.
On possible departures, Amorim said: “We have a department that is responsible for that part. I’m just focused on Sunday’s game. We talk every day. We talk about all the situations.”
Amorim also complimented Hojlund’s temperament after being dropped for the game against Arsenal, saying that the 22-year-old acted “like a professional player” and regarding a move, added that “when the market is closed, everything will be more clear.”
Despite a 1-0 loss at the hands of one of the Premier League favourites Arsenal last weekend, Amorim believes United are still a force to reckon with.
“We are better… because we have different characteristics and we can change that during the game,” he said.
“The biggest improvement we had [against Arsenal] was that we didn’t lose the ball so many times in build-up. That was really good also for our team.”
