Arsenal announce they will release 19 players this summer and are in talks with three over extending deals

Arsenal have announced that 19 players will leave the club after the expiration of their contracts this summer.

First-team players Cedric Soares and Mohamed Elneny are among those leaving the club after June 30.

Full-back Soares joined the Gunners in 2020 following an initial loan spell at the club and spent five seasons in north London.

Elneny, meanwhile, has spent eight years at the club and was part of the FA Cup winning squad of 2017 while making 91 Premier League appearances across that time.

Discussions are ongoing with trio Amario Cozier-Duberry, Karl Hein and Reuell Walters, with the club stating they will provide an update “once matters are finalised between all parties”.

Arsenal Women’s players Sabrina D’Angelo, Kaylan Marckese and Vivianne Miedema are also departing.

Miedema spent seven years at Arsenal and is the Women’s Super League leading scorer with 79 goals, scoring 125 in all competitions for the Gunners.
