Arsenal defender Gabriel to be assessed after going off injured for Brazil

Carlo Ancelotti says Arsenal defender Gabriel will be assessed after going off injured in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Senegal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Brazil centre-back was forced off just after the hour mark and Ancelotti says he has suffered an adductor injury.

“I don’t know, he had an injury in his adductor,” Ancelotti said when asked about the severity of the issue.

“The medical staff has to check tomorrow.

“We are really sorry for this, really disappointed. When a player has an injury, you hope they can recover well and soon.”
