Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber were not involved in the first part of Arsenal’s training session today.

Both players missed the defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday through injury and were not seen in the part of their training session which is open to the media, ahead of the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Speaking earlier on in his press conference about whether they could be involved in the game, boss Mikel Arteta said: “With Bukayo, let’s see how he feels today and the transition that we have later on.

“I think Timber is going to be close obviously.

“We have to see how he deals with training with the whole group because he hasn’t done that yet but he will be pretty close hopefully.”

Martin Odegaard also missed out again as he works his way back from an ankle injury.

Arteta says the midfielder is “close” to returning but would not be fit for their next game.
