Arsenal are exploring the possibility of bringing Eberechi Eze back to north London as Mikel Arteta’s summer rebuild kicks into gear.

The Crystal Palace and England star has become one of the Premier League’s most watchable players, with his flair, technique and eye for goal attracting interest from both Arsenal and Tottenham.

But while Spurs remain in the hunt, Arsenal hold a sentimental edge as Eze spent part of his youth career with the Gunners and could now make a sensational return to the club he supported growing up.

Arsenal Invincible Ray Parlour has backed the club’s ambitious summer plans and believes the addition of Eze could be the latest piece of an exciting puzzle.

“Next up for Arsenal is that they are looking for a winger, and Eze has been mentioned in recent weeks,” Parlour told NetBet Sports Betting. “He is one of the most exciting players in the Premier League to watch and would be a massive asset to the team.

“He has shown he can mix it in big games by scoring in the FA Cup Final and has played well on England duty.”

The 27-year-old’s performances for Palace and his impressive impact with England have made him a prime target, as Arsenal aim to add creativity and depth to their attacking options.

Parlour added: “Arsenal are in for a big July of incomings and I’m excited to see the additions join the squad.”

One of those additions is expected to be Martin Zubimendi, with Parlour hailing the Spaniard’s impending arrival: “He can be a big player for the team next season to bolster the strength in the centre of midfield.”

With Jorginho departing, Arsenal are also eyeing Brentford’s Christian Norgaard as an experienced and efficient option to strengthen their midfield depth.

Up front, the Gunners continue to weigh up options for a new number nine, with Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres both heavily linked. “The fans are getting restless,” said Parlour, “but I am confident it will be worth the wait for sure.”

With Kai Havertz back to full fitness and a flurry of transfer activity expected, the prospect of Eze joining his boyhood club again could be the headline act in a busy summer at the Emirates.
