“Yeah, he felt something so we didn’t want to take any risks. We don’t know what. So he could not be in condition to be in the squad today and be selected. So we have a few days but we’ll have to wait and see.

“I don’t know. The atmosphere was different to Tuesday, that’s for sure. I don’t know if it was playing in the back of the crowd. For us as professionals, we know the importance of that. Today what we wanted to do was increase the probability of us really challenging for what we are looking for in the Premier League. With that result, obviously, it’s more unlikely to happen.”

Nothing separates the sides at the full time whistle.

Arsenal went ahead early in the second half but a Wissa goal means the points are shared.

Saka had the ball on the corner of the box, he cut inside on his left foot and fires just wide of Flekken’s goal.

Martinelli receives the ball on the left-hand side of the area and plays across the box but it’s deflected into Flekken’s hands off Collins.

Odegaard receives a yellow card for pulling down Schade off the ball.

Christain Norgaard makes way for Gustavo Nunes.

The fourth official has indicated six minutes added time.

Jorginho is taken down the tunnel with an injury after he fell badly challenging with Mbuemo for a header.

Arsenal have already used all five subs so are down to ten.

Yarmolyuk receives a yellow card for bringing down Merino after a nice bit of skill from the Spaniard.

Saka is played through on goal and rounds Flekken but Kayode is there to stop the winger getting a shot away.

Mbuemo receives the ball on the right-hand side before playing it to the overlapping Kayode.

The full back crosses deep to the back post where Collins heads the ball back across the box. Wissa turns and volleys the ball into Raya’s net from close range

Wissa plays the ball in behind to Mbuemo who drives into the right-hand side of the area.

The winger’s cross gets put out for a corner.

Brentford make two changes with Kristoff Ajer making way for Michael  Kayode and  Vitaly Janelt coming on for Yehor Yarmolyuk.

Arsenal make another sub with Partey being replaced by Jurrien Timber.

Arsenal make three substitutions.

Nwaneri makes way for Saka, Lewis-Skelly takes the place of Tierney and Odegaard comes on for Zinchenko.

David Raya claims the ball from a Brentford corner and quickly releases to Declan Rice.

The midfielder drives through the middle of the pitch before laying off to the overlapping Thomas Partey who fires home from close range.

Ajer brings down Martinelli on the left edge of the box.

Another chance for Rice from a dead-ball but it comes to nothing.

Mbuemo crosses the ball in towards Ajer in the box who brings it down on his chest but Rice gets the ball before the defender can get his shot away.

Trossard rolls back to Raya to restart play.

We are back underway for the second half.

A fairly uneventful half ends 0-0.

Arsenal grew into the game throughout the half but have struggled to find the creative edge to break down Brentford.
