Mikel Arteta says he is hopeful that Martin Odegaard will be involved for Arsenal against Newcastle.

The Norway midfielder has been struggling with a shoulder injury, but the Gunners boss says he is in training ahead of the game and hopes he can play a part.

“Martin will be training with us the next two days so hopefully he’ll be available for the game,” he said.

Bukayo Saka is also set to feature again as he continues to build up his fitness following a hamstring injury.

“I think he played the games that we anticipated, he did well, he feels good and he will be training the next few days,” Arteta said.

But Noni Madueke will be among the players to miss out through injury, with Arteta insisting there is no update yet on the severity of his knee injury.
