Ewa Pajor and Salma Paralluelo each scored twice in the second-half as Barcelona thrash Lyon to secure their fourth Champions League title in six seasons.

Pajor got on the end of Patri Guijarro’s pass to strike the ball past Lyon goalkeeper Christiane Endler in the 55th minute to break the deadlock.

14 minutes later Paralluelo’s cross was tapped home yet again by Pajor to double Pere Romeu’s side’s lead, before Paralluelo ensured the victory in the 90th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box.

Pajor then turned provider for Paralluelo in added time to complete the rout. It was an emphatic response after missing out on last season’s title to Arsenal.

Lyon thought they had taken the lead to expose Barcelona’s defensive weaknesses inside 15 minutes as captain Wendie Renard forced a save from Cata Coll before Lindsey Heaps turned in the rebound. However the goal was ruled out by VAR for offside.

Barcelona return to Liga F action against Real Sociedad on Wednesday, 27 May in their penultimate game of the season. Whilst Lyon, can complete a treble as they take on Paris FC in the final of the Premiere Ligue play-offs on Friday, 29 May.
