Live updates from the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth host Manchester United.
Carrick on the referee not awarding a penalty for a push on Amad, moments before Bournemouth scored: “It’s a huge moment, you don’t give it, they go down the other end and score, and then it becomes all of a sudden, it needs to be a bigger penalty to overturn just because they scored, when actually it’s a penalty and it should be a penalty if you’ve already given one. So, a bit baffling, really, to make sense of that.”
“That’s always been part of the club. It doesn’t change with the manager in charge. Last weeks we’ve been positive with the result and that gives positive energy to the team to understand we can go anywhere and get results.
“We’ve been in very good form under Michael [Carrick] and today we had to suffer and we did get a point – we got something from it.
“What could be better is that we get three points in the next game which we couldn’t get today. Premier League is very tough and we have lots of competition. Aston Villa are close to us and Liverpool and Chelsea too.
“Our aim is to move forwards by keep getting points, we have to get away from them and the best way to do that is to keep getting points. If you want to get closer to the one in front of you you still have to get the three points.”
“It will always be like that when you get results you get flowers when you don’t you get criticised it’s part of being a Manchester United player.
“Demand is very high from everywhere, a lot of people with eyes on the club because it’s massive. It’s a lot of eyes on us but if you decide to play for this club and you play here then you are a big player and have a big personality.
“There are highs and lows and you have to deal with them. “
“Disappointed because we did enough to get three points. Had to finish with a lot of suffering and trying not to concede. Frustration onto ourselves because we could’ve gone 2-0 up and from that we conceded another goal. Not getting a penalty and then we get a penalty against where it’s the same situation as Amad – one is one, one is not. I know it’s difficult for the referee to give two penalties to the same team in one game but I don’t understand why VAR doesn’t get involved in that situation or with Harry [Maguire] because either one is a penalty and so is the other or none of them are.
“Amad is getting to a point where he’s going to shoot and he gets pushed – you can see that something puts him completely out of balance. It’s frustrating for the small players because they always say the small players are soft and when it’s the bigger players they end up giving the fouls. I think the other situation is a penalty but I also think the one on Amad is a penalty and that could’ve changed the game.”
“The referee’s call of no penalty for a challenge by Truffert was checked and confirmed by VAR – with it deemed the contact was not sufficient for a foul.”
After 100 minutes, and a hectic second half, the game ends level!
All the goals came after the restart, with Fernandes first putting United ahead from the penalty spot before Christie’s equaliser.
A Hill own goal from a corner put the away side back in front, but shortly after Maguire conceded a penalty and was sent off, with Kroupi smashing in from the spot to secure Bournemouth a point.
It looks like we’ll play more than the allotted nine minutes, with Scott needing treatment after being hit in the face by Fernandes’ shot.
Mount will play these last few minutes, replacing Amad.
Sesko elbows Senesi in the chest and picks up a booking.
Evanilson meets Truffert’s cross but can’t get the right contact with the ball and it goes over.
Carrick signals for his players to relax – he would certainly take a point now.
Nine minutes of added time!
Gannon-Doak replaces Rayan.
Ugarte and Heaven are on for Casemiro and Cunha.
Substitute Kroupi smashes the penalty into the bottom corner to put Bournemouth level again!
United will have to play these remaining ten minutes with ten men too.
Maguire nudges Evanilson over in the box when he is through on goal and is sent off!
Bournemouth now have the chance to level from the spot.
Wow, what a strike from Scott!
He bends an effort at goal from just outside the box which strikes the bar and then hits Lammens before going out for a corner. So, so close.
Bournemouth respond to going behind by making three changes, as Kroupi, Smith and Brooks replace Adli, Jimenez and Christie.
Man Utd are back in front!
It originally looks like Maguire heads in from a corner, but the last touch came off Hill and into his own net for an own goal.
Here comes United’s super sub. It’s Mbeumo who makes way after a frustrating evening for the Cameroon forward.
Christie fires into the bottom corner to put Bournemouth level!
United are furious as they felt they should have been awarded a penalty for a foul on Amad, before Bournemouth went up the other end and scored.
The skipper steps up and rolls it into the corner, sending Petrovic the wrong way.
Penalty for Man Utd!
Cunha skips past Jimenez and goes down under contact from the Bournemouth defender, who is also booked.
The ball breaks for Jimenez just outside the box but his effort lacks power, and accuracy.
Sesko is warming up down the touchline. Could it soon be time for Michael Carrick to call on his super sub?
