“It’s common sense.
“He slips, everyone says that he slips.
“He doesn’t catch him with a leg that goes high, the leg goes down on the floor.
“The VAR, supposedly, has to be something super clear and super obvious. The VAR is the one who decides and I want to see the process.”
More quotes here from Ruben Amorim on Mazraoui’s fitness after he was forced off following Evanilson’s red card challenge.
Watch the full post-match press conference from Ruben Amorim on our YouTube channel:
Amorim on whether United could do with a more experienced striker: “We have a lot of things still to do this season.
“We like our strikers, we are improving our strikers and we will see what happens in the next season.”
“It was not the plan for him to have 90 minutes but you need to win games.
“You could feel the overload in that part of the field. He’s really good at crosses, he’s really good in the final third decision, he has a lot of quality and when we are losing and drawing you don’t think about the next game. You need to win.”
“I want to support my players. I was a player and sometimes you have bad moments, difficult moments at a big club so I think it was a good moment for him but it’s just a goal.”
Ruben Amorim is asked about United drawing with Bournemouth on the same day Liverpool can win the league: “Everything can change.
“We need to focus step by step and not look too far ahead.
“We have the ultimate goal of winning the Premier League. Again, I’m not crazy, I know it won’t happen next year but we are trying to build something and the small things are really important.”
