Watch Pep Guardiola’s FULL reaction after Man City let a two-goal lead slip…
Pep Guardiola speaking in his press conference about Phil Foden’s assessment that City looked “tired” and “leggy” at the end of the game…
“That’s why I replaced him!”
Read more of what Phil Foden had to say after Man City’s 2-2 draw with Brentford here.
Happy with a point? “It is what it is.”
“I don’t know, sometimes it happens. We have to manage it a bit better but today was not bad in terms of that. We managed the last moments really well.”
Pep Guardiola says his side “did not take the right decisions in the final third” to kill the game off against Brentford.
Phil Foden speaking to TNT Sports: “I think we looked tired at the end. For the last 20 or 30 minutes we looked a little bit leggy.
“They were putting longer balls into the box and I don’t think we coped with the physicality at the end.
“It’s one of the toughest places to come as well.
“They give you a different challenge going man to man, long balls, physicality, so it’s a challenging place to come
“When we went 1-0 up, it was a bit disappointing after that. We let our form slip, giving easy balls away, so it’s something to learn from.”
Christian Norgaard, speaking to TNT Sports immediately after the game, says he thinks Brentford played well and deserved their late equaliser. He also jokes that he did not think he would be the one to score it.
And that’s it, Anthony Taylor blows his whistle and City have drawn with Brentford.
The visitors let a two goal lead slip in the dying moments and they drop to seventh after Bournemouth’s win.
I can’t believe what I’ve just seen!
City are caught on the counter again and the ball falls to Mbeumo in the box but his shot is diverted off the line by Ake again.
What a match!
And just like that Brentford are level!
Ortega can’t do anything to stop Christian Norgaard’s header from flying into the top corner after a brilliant cross from Lewis-Potter.
Still four minutes to go!
Five more minutes here at the Gtech for Brentford to find an equaliser.
Foden comes off to a round of applause from the travelling supporters.
He’s replaced by James McAtee.
Not long left for Brentford to grab another goal.
Foden’s two goals are the difference despite Wissa getting one back for the hosts.

Hang on a minute, this game is back on!
Mbuemo’s cross into the box evades everyone apart from Wissa, who controls the ball and fires into a empty net.
Game on!
Foden’s fifth goal in two matches at the Gtech… for Manchester City!

And that probably wraps it up for Manchester City!
Savinho’s shot is saved by Flekken, but it rolls into the path of Foden who smashes the ball in low and hard to double City’s lead!
A look at Phil Foden’s brilliantly improvised goal.
What a wonderful goal from Manchester City!
The man who scored 3 here last season, nets to give City a 1-0 lead!
How about that pass as well .. 🪄

So close again for Brentford!
Substitute Schade is played in by Mbuemo but the German fires wide of the goal.
Still 1-0 City.
What a turnaround at Stamford Bridge!
First Justin Kluivert, now Antoine Semenyo has scored to give the Cherries the lead against Chelsea.
[2-1]

Nathan Ake that is unbelievable.
Mbuemo rounds Ortega before squaring the ball to Wissa who has the goal at his mercy, but Ake is there to block on the line.
City still lead… just!
Kevin Schade replaces Mathias Jensen.
No sooner had Brentford thought they’d taken the lead, were City in front.
De Bruyne’s cross was diverted in off the post by Phil Foden.
A huge goal for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Damsgaard thought he had fired the hosts in front with a superb shot from the edge of the box but referee Taylor flags for offside.
Fantastic block from Gvardiol to get in front of Wissa just as the Brentford forward lets fly at the visitors goal.
Sepp Van Den Berg then fires over from the following corner.
Stan Smith from Nottingham Forest 1-0 Liverpool:
“Half-time at the City Ground and Nottingham Forest lead the league leaders 1-0. Liverpool have had most of the ball but are yet to threaten the hosts’ goal and look shaky whenever Forest break forward.
“The crowd are definitely up for it and it may have had an impact on Arne Slot’s men who are not at their best.”
