Watch Ruben Amorim’s full post-match press conference over on our YouTube channel:
Amorim on today being a learning curve for the youngsters: “It’s really important. This season it is really important to understand that we cannot do this anymore.
“Of course we know the context but this kind of season, we need to change that. They need to understand what it is to play for Manchester United.
“I think they did really well. They are not playing so much but they have to play 90 minutes because we have to change some other players to save them for Thursday.”
On the players who came off, Amorim says he wants to do as much as possible to protect them.
On de Ligt, who limped off, he says he has “no idea” how bad the problem is.
Ruben Amorim has just been in for his post-match press conference.
On the performance: “I think it’s a little bit the reflection of our season.
“We start quite well, controlling the game, not creating big chances but controlling the pace of the game.
“We suffered a lot from throw-ins and set-pieces but we already knew our team would struggle against this team because we didn’t have the height necessary for this kind of game.
“They score twice in these kind of moments, even with Mathjis (De Ligt) on the floor.
“In the second half I felt we were near the draw, then we suffer a goal and like some other times, we disconnect. Then another goal a few minutes later.
“Then we pushed forward, scored twice, but didn’t have the time to do better.”
A crazy game ends with Brentford hanging on to secure a huge win in their push for Europe.
United made a game of it when they looked to have been dead and buried but ultimately it’s another defeat.
A bonkers game.
Man Utd have another one back as Amad fires through the legs of Flekken to make it 4-3.
Seven minutes of added time to play!
United are pushing for another goal back and Chido Obi has just seen a shot well blocked.
Fair play to the away fans. They have not stopped signing even with their side trailing and have been very loud all afternoon long.
This game is wide open.
Wissa breaks forward and squares the ball across the area but no one is there and United clear.
I can barely keep up!
Garnacho makes it 4-2 with a brilliant curling strike into the corner.
A triple change for Brentford.
Kayode, who has been terrific this afternoon, goes off to a standing ovation and is replaced by Ajer.
Damsgaard comes off for Thiago and Igor Gomes replaces Lewis-Potter.
In all the madness of two goals going in I didn’t have time to update you of there being substitutions for both sides.
Lindelof has replaced Fredricson for United and Henry came on for Schade just after he made it 3-1.

GOAL GIVEN!
This is quickly getting very bad for Man Utd.
Jensen plays a lovely pass through to Kayode, who squares it for Wissa for the easiest of tap-ins.
There was a long check for offside but the goal was eventually awarded.
Schade has scored his second goal, and second header, of the game to put Brentford 3-1 up!
Mbeumo cuts back onto his left foot and whips in a great cross towards the back post which Schade heads in from a few yards out.
Brentford make their first change, bringing on Jensen for Yarmoliuk.
Amass brings down a cross but then fires high and wide from a tight angle.
Eriksen opts to have a go from 25 yards but fires well over the bar.
Garnacho gets in down the left and cuts the ball back for Obi but the striker’s effort from a few yards out is superbly blocked.
Amorim makes another change, bringing on Eriksen for Mount.
The former Brentford man receives a few boos but also some applause as he makes his way onto the pitch.
Garnacho is shown a yellow card after tripping Norgaard. It might have been for his reaction to the foul being given.
Garnacho cuts the ball back for Mount, who sees his first effort blocked before firing straight into the gloves of Flekken with his follow up.
Ruben Amorim has made two changes at the break with Amad and Yoro replacing Shaw and Dorgu.
We’re back underway!
