Mikel Arteta was delighted to see Kai Havertz back among the goals this evening.
“It’s going to give him a lot of confidence, joy, energy, and to the team as well because the team knows how important Kai is for us and how he can help the team to be much better and take the team to a different level.
“The fact he was able to do that today after such a long time is very impressive so now we make sure we use him in the right way because he’s going to be very important.”
Spurs boss Thomas Frank: “Very happy with the result but even more happy with the performance.
“I’m very proud of the players and the character they showed. We basically had 12 players for Dortmund and this game so a lot of players had to push through.”
“The character of the players, their resilience in the second half, their reaction to going behind was so positive. All the things I’m asking for.

Marseille, PSV Eindhoven, Napoli and Ajax are among those who have now been knocked out of the Champions League.

Real Madrid, PSG, Inter Milan, Newcastle, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are among the sides who will have to go through the play-offs in order to reach the round of 16.

Here’s how the top eight looks, with five of the six English clubs straight through to the round of 16.

Benfica’s goalkeeper has just scored to put Jose Mourinho’s side into the top 24 and to keep them in the competition on goal difference! WOW.
It also means Man City are definitely through in the top eight.
Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool are straight through to the round of 16.
Man City just need Real Madrid not to score against Benfica.
Chelsea, Spurs, Man City and Liverpool are straight through to the round of 16 as it stands, while we wait for official confirmation. Newcastle will have to go through the play-offs.
Sanchez keeps Chelsea ahead by tipping away Lukaku’s strike!
Kairat get their second right at the end and fair play to them.
Arsenal deserved winners and go through to the knockouts as league phase winners.
Chiesa gets a sixth for Liverpool!
Christian Norgaard makes way for Ife Ibrahim to come on for his senior debut.
Arsenal thought they had their fourth through Gabriel Jesus, but the Brazilian was narrowly offside.
So close to the long awaited Arsenal fourth.

Chelsea take the lead!
The Blues go into the top eight, and Napoli are heading out.
Brilliant again from Joao Pedro, who drives forward after being played through by Palmer and finishes into the bottom corner.
73 minutes after their first shot, Kairat finally have their second of the match.
It went miles over the crossbar after an effort from range but at least they tried.
Gabriel Jesus and debutant Brando Bailey-Joseph replace Gabriel Martinelli and Viktor Gyokeres.
Dominic Solanke doubles Spurs’ lead.
A header back towards his own goal from Mahmoud Dahoud puts Solanke through on goal and the striker fires home.
Dominic Solanke is on now for Wilson Odobert.
Another 25 minutes of Arsenal dominance should do just fine for Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners are creating some decent chances but haven’t properly threatened the Kairat goal of late.
City continue to be the side on top here, with both Marmoush and Ait-Nouri failing to score from dangerous positions.
However Galatasaray have just created their best chance of the game at the other end. It comes to Osimhen inside the box and he strikes well, but Donnarumma produces a fine stop to deny him.
