Chelsea complete £16m signing of defender

Chelsea have completed the signing of Pep Chavarria from La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.

The 28-year-old left-back has signed a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2031 for a fee of around £16m.

Chavarria arrives after four years as a key player for Rayo, helping the club secure back-to-back eighth-place finishes in La Liga and reach the UEFA Conference League final last season.

Chavarria says he is excited by the opportunity to join Chelsea and is determined to make the most of it.

“I’m so excited to get started,” he said.
