Chelsea have dropped out of the Champions League top eight after defeat to Serie A side Atalanta.

The Blues led in the first half through Joao Pedro, before Atalanta came from behind in the second half thanks to goals from Gianluca Scamacca and Charles De Ketelaere.

Enzo Maresca’s side sat in seventh heading into the game but will face having to go through the play-offs in order to progress to the knockout rounds unless they make their way back into the top eight positions.

The defeat also means Chelsea are without a win in the last four games, having also been beaten by Leeds and drawn with Bournemouth and Arsenal.

  1. I just believe the manager and a number of key players will not bring this club to the levels we as supporters require in the immediate future. We bought players pre season that have not the ability to deliver what is needed to bring the club back to our previous levels. Disastrous night again tonight.
