England defender Tino Livramento has been ruled out of the World Cup through a calf injury.
The Newcastle United man has struggled with injuries this past season and has suffered another blow at the England camp in Kansas City.
Livramento’s injury is not thought to be too serious, but a scan and medical assessment on Monday confirmed he would miss the tournament. The news has already moved 2026 tournament markets.
Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has been called up to replace Livramento in the squad, ahead of England’s first game against Croatia on Wednesday.
Arrangements are being made for the Chalobah to travel to the team’s basecamp in Kansas City, while the rest of the squad will head to Dallas for the game against Croatia.
