Chelsea swoop for Toney, Liverpool working on deal for Italian forward – latest transfer news

Chelsea have made a move to sign Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney according to Sky Sports.

The 28-year-old and Brentford have been in talks with Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli over a potential move, with the Blues unable to match their wage offer for the striker.

Liverpool are working to complete the signing of Juventus forward Federico Chiesa before the transfer window closes on Friday, according to the Athletic.

The 26-year-old has been told by new boss Thiago Motta that he is not in the club’s plans and is available for just £15m.

Nottingham Forest are looking at Ajax and Netherlands forward Brian Brobbey after a move for Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez fell through, according to Sky Sports.

However, Fabrizio Romano reports the deal could be resurrected despite the player’s reluctance to move.

Elsewhere, Genk midfielder Bilal El Khannouss is expected to have a medical at Leicester City today after a deal worth £19.5m was agreed, according to the Daily Telegraph.

ESPN reports that Manchester City are aware of Atletico Madrid’s interest in midfielder Matheus Nunes, but the Citizens are yet to make a decision on the future of 25-year-old Portuguese international.

Finally Scott McTominay is expected to fly to Italy today to have his medical with Napoli after agreeing a £25.3m deal with Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, Uruguayan Manuel Ugarte is in the UK and will be having his medical today ahead of his £50m move to United from PSG.
