Thanks for following the live blog. Chelsea may well regret this draw in the race for UCL qualification.
They still have to face Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest
“He is doing well…. He’s playing almost every game. The idea was to refresh a little bit with him knowing he is going to give us good moments. Goals and assists.”
“We lost confidence because we conceded and because of the environment. In this moment you have to continue doing the right things. Don’t change the plan. Because we are a team that most of the time we play short from our goal kick.
“The second goal we decided to play long because of the environment. Then we conceded the second one. So you have to be strong. You have to continue with the things that you are doing. I can understand (why it happened). Because we conceded the (first) goal and they (the players) decided to play long ball.
“But if you go long it doesn’t mean you are going to control something. And the second goal we concede is from that. But we are stronger with our fans, we are a better team. It’s up to them to decide the way (they support). Today at 2-0 down it’s normal to be the way they were.”
Well that was an entertaining watch. From 2-0 down, Chelsea managed to salvage a draw but in reality that won’t do much to help their UCL ambitions.
Maresca’s men must now win almost all of their games to finish in the top 5.
McKenna’s side are all but relegated, but put up a very good fight today.
That’s the best chance since the second Chelsea goal went in. The ball falls to Enzo in the box, who takes a good effort but it’s really well saved
One Palmer stops the other from stealing it at the death. Falls to the Chelsea forward, he takes a good touch and lets off a decent effort that is well saved
SIX minutes of added time for either side to find a winner
Chalobah may have just missed the chance to win Chelsea the game. From three yards out, after a free-kick, he heads over the bar
From a short corner, Sancho collects the ball and from the edge of the box decides to let rip.
And let rip he does, firing a SCREAMER into the back of the net.
Pedro Neto attempts an ambitious half-volley from the edge of the box that just veers wide. Had Palmer scrambling
Chelsea are getting close to an equaliser. They have to make sure they don’t concede at the other end though….
George Hirst runs at the Chelsea backline, before trying a curled effort that comes very close.
A minute later he has an even better chance, fluffing a chance in the box from five yards out. A busy few minutes for the Englishman
CUCRELLA SCORES! Maybe it isn’t all over.
Madueke gets the ball on the byline, uses a lovely bit of skill to get past Davis, and puts it on a plate for Cucurella in the middle. The Spaniard made no mistake
It’s been really poor from Chelsea. This was a must-win game, and they are 2-0 down at half-time.
It’s made even worse by the fact that Ipswich are all but relegated and without their best player.
Big team talk needed from Maresca
Chelsea have been probing, but Ipswich now have 10 men behind the ball.
Caicedo is reduced to a long shot from the edge of the box, which isn’t too far wide
The players knew it was a must win game today, but defensively they have been caught out.
Ipswich have gotten through too easily, and it looks a tough ask to get the win from here
IPSWICH SCORE AGAIN! Clarke keeps the ball on the edge of the box, gives it to Enciso, who delivers in a curling peach of a cross to Johnson, who deftly heads in.
It’s very well crafted, and Enciso and Johnson have been absolutely brilliant
Chelsea are shell-schocked at the Bridge. This is a must-win game, and they have conceded first.
Enzo Maresca looks furious on the touchline. Fortunately for them, there is still a lot of football to be played
ENCISO scores! Ben Johnson collects the ball in the box, just beating Cucurella to the ball, before putting it into the middle for Enciso, who toe-pokes past Sanchez.
Talk about against the run of play…
First Colwill has a header, free in the box, which he possibly should do better with. Then the ball drops to Cucurella who tries a wild effort.
Chelsea racking up the shots
Chelsea are getting closer. Madueke holds the ball on the right, and lays off Chalobah in space who lets off a good effort which Palmer collects.
You feel the opener is coming
Noni Madueke looks in good spirits and up for this one, no surprise after his two goals against Legia Warsaw on Thursday.
He’s just had a close effort. Neto drifted a ball into the box, and Madueke connected with the volley. Sadly for him it was slightly wide
Chelsea come close via Nicolas Jackson! Enzo Fernandez goes to the byline and slips in Jackson, who from a tight angle rattles the post
Jack Clarke has the first effort of the game. Unfortunately for him and Ipswich, it was 30 metres over the bar.
