Chelsea 1-0 Leeds LIVE – Chelsea hold on to reach the FA Cup final

On facing Manchester City in the final, McFarlane says this Chelsea side have the capability to raise their level the bigger the game and the bigger the occasion.

Chelsea interim boss Calum McFarlane: “We really wanted to shift the momentum, our form hasn’t been great recently.

On taking over on a short-term basis for the second time this season: “It was easier than the last time because I have a relationship with the players and I’ve worked with them for three or four months now.

“It’s been intense but not as crazy as the last time.”

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez: “I think the boys reacted exactly the way they should have.

“The fans deserve moments like this.

On interim boss Calum McFarlane: “He’s kept it positive and focused on the next game. It’s on us to try to qualify for Champions League and win the final.”

Chelsea just about get the job done here in a game that offered very little after the hour mark.

Two brilliant Robert Sanchez saves and Fernandez’s header were the difference at Wembley.

A free kick is floated in perfectly to Calvert Lewin who is free in the area but he completely miscues the attempt.

Pedro Neto is down holding his face after Bogle appeared to catch him with an arm.

Neto was all over the defender but Bogle is in the book for the incident.

The Chelsea midfielder is being looked at by the medical staff, he is holidng his knee and looks like he is in a lot of pain.

The ball drops to him beautifully on the volley but he miscues well wide.

Meanwhile Chelsea are making a change Andrey Santos is off for Romeo Lavia.

Moises Caicedo is in the book for a very late challenge on Anton Stach just outside the area.

Malo Gusto sends two defenders before finding Fernandez who flicks the ball deftly to Pedro who cannot sort his feet out and fire home from five yards out.

Robert Sanchez again keeps his Chelsea clean sheet intact.

Anton Stach has just come on and his first touch is a shot destined for the top corner if not for Sanchez’s right hand.

After a strong start from Leeds, Chelsea have dominated proceedings in the first half.

After Joao Pedro hit the post and Enzo Fernandez had an effort saved, the Argentine eventually gave Chelsea the lead through a header.

Leeds have failed to offer any creativity since that moment, they’ll need a lot more if they are going to turn this tie around.

Ethan Ampadu launches a long throw into the area which falls to the Swiss striker nicely on the volley but he cannot keep it down from 10 yards out.

Leeds finally have a chance to get one back.

Joao Pedro loses it in his own half giving Brenden Aaronson an opportunity to hit one from range but his shot is blocked by Tosin Adarabioyo.

Since the goal Leeds have struggled to get a foot in here.

THe latest Chelsea chance comes through Joao Pedro who shoots just wide of Lucas Perri’s goal from just inside the box afer Romeo Lavia won it high up the field.
