Watch Ange Postecoglou’s FULL press conference here:
Maresca praises the returning Nicolas Jackson and praises his side for their togetherness to beat Spurs…
Read more of what Postecoglou had to say about the reaction from Spurs fans here…
“We have to handle the emotion.
“We have been there all season. Now it’s a matter of finishing well.”
Maresca speaking to Sky Sports: “With Nico we are a different team.”
Postecoglou says the game was decided by a “really poor decision” after Spurs’ equaliser was disallowed.
He also criticises VAR again. “It’s killing the game, mate. It’s not the same game as it used to be. The referee gave it and then needed six minutes [to rule the goal out] for something the VAR official thought was clear and obvious. It’s crazy mate. It’s madness.”
Postecoglou speaking to Sky Sports: “It was a difficult night.
On whether his side got close to their level tonight: “I think we were close to. It’s the first time we’ve had everyone back. It’s a work in progress.”
“He’s top, he’s proper hands on. He tells me what I need to improve on.”
Colwill on being asked about his “potential”.
“Potential doesn’t mean anything.
“This gaffer is going to take me there for sure.”
Levi Colwill speaking to Sky Sports after the game: “It meant everything to me, the boys and the fans.
“The fans were amazing. They got us through it today.”
A few angry Spurs fans in the away end as the players go over to applaud them at the end of the game. Postecoglou opts to stay away, meanwhile.
After over 100 minutes of play, the final whistle has gone.
Chelsea will feel the win was deserved. Each passing defeat for Spurs at the moment, meanwhile, feels huge, and Postecoglou will know that his fate likely rests on their Europa League tie against Frankfurt.
With seven minutes of extra time to play yet, Maresca has called for some noise from the Chelsea fans
Johnson was pacing down the right wing, whipped in a perfect cross to Son in the middle, and Rob Sanchez comes up with a MASSIVE save to maybe keep all three points in West London
And the Chelsea captain comes on for Nico Jackson
Reece James is getting ready to come on. Just as the game is getting spicy
After the Spurs goal that was disallowed, the Australian cupped his ears at the Spurs fans.
Maybe not the best idea, and for the goal to then be ruled it makes it even more awkward
Pape Sarr robbed Caicedo, advanced on the goal, let off a shot that Rob Sanchez should have saved, and scored.
But after watching the replay several times on the monitor, the ref has ruled it out for a foul by Sarr on Caicedo.
Noni Madueke on for Jadon Sancho
Brennan Johnson and Pape Sarr on for Wilson Odobert and Lucas Bergvall
Chelsea almost double their lead.
They won a corner on the edge of the box, and after a couple of headers in the box, Bergvall cleared it away. Only as far as Caicedo, however, who absolutely rifled it into the bottom corner of the goal.
But it has been ruled out for offside.
Finally the breakthrough! And it has been coming for a while for the Blues.
Cole Palmer on the left flank whips in a sumptuous ball that finds Enzo Fernandez in space in the box, who heads home from a few yards out.
Fernandez managed to find space perfectly in between Van de Ven and Udogie, question marks over the defending.
