Crystal Palace star set to leave the club, says Glasner

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner says he expects Marc Guehi to leave the club next summer.

The England defender came close to joining Liverpool this summer before the deal fell through.

But his contract is set to expire next summer and Glasner says the 25-year-old has informed the club he will not be signing a new deal.

“I think Marc has already told us that he doesn’t sign a new contract, so he will leave next year,” Glasner said.

“The club wanted [him to stay]. They offered Marc a new contract. But he said, ‘no, I want to make something different’. And that’s normal.

“And for us, it’s how we can deal with this situation? [What] is the best way to get this next step done? And that’s all about how we are talking together.”
