Derby boss hoping for new signing shortly as he confirms interest in striker

John Eustace has confirmed Derby County are targeting Pisa striker Henrik Meister.

Meister has attracted interest from clubs in Germany this summer and was left out of Pisa’s Serie B clash with Padova for “transfer-related” reasons.

Speaking ahead of Derby’s meeting with Swansea City, Eustace confirmed the forward is among the players being considered by the club.

“The club have really highlighted two or three players, I think he’s one of them for sure,” Eustace told BBC Derby.

“It’s important that we get the right characters and the right people in and if that player’s to come in, brilliant.

“He’s obviously a player on the radar, as three or four others are, so I don’t really want to comment too much on him because he’s not our player.

“Hopefully we can get one player in before the weekend.”
