Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle after five years in charge

Eddie Howe is leaving his role as Newcastle United head coach.

The 48-year-old has spent five years in charge of the club and ended their wait 70-year wait for a major trophy by winning the Carabao Cup in 2025.

He also led the Magpies to Champions League qualification in 2023 and 2025.

But Howe had come under pressure after a disappointing last season which saw Newcastle finish 12th and has now chosen to depart.

Al Ahli boss Matthias Jaissle is the favourite to take over from Howe.
