WATCH: Edwards praises Arsenal duo and says they allow Gunners to ‘suffocate teams’

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has praised Arsenal’s central defensive partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba and says they allow the Gunners to “suffocate teams”.

Edwards takes his team to the Emirates on Wednesday after a narrow 2-1 defeat to another north London side in Spurs on Saturday.

Arsenal’s central defensive partnership were crucial in securing a goalless draw with fellow title rivals Man City on Sunday and Edwards says it will be a huge challenge to get the better of them.

He said: “Really impressed with them, they’ve got everything haven’t they?

“They’ve got physicality, speed, power, they are very well coached and obviously they understand the game. They can play pretty well as well with the ball so they’ve almost got the lot.

“It’s Arsenal Football Club, so you’d expect that as well. They’ve got such power and athleticism, they are a big reason why they suffocate teams now as well, they can lock on and be really aggressive and compete in any which way.

“You want to fight? They can have a physical battle, and also they can play as well. They tick pretty much every single box and they were clearly magnificent on the weekend.”
