Unai Emery is hopeful Aston Villa can welcome back several key players soon, following their heavy 4-0 defeat to Brighton.
Villa were comfortably beaten by Brighton, with Johan Manzambi, Brian Madjo and Tammy Abraham all missing out, along with Ollie Watkins amid speculation over his future.
The Villa boss provided updates on the injured trio after the match, revealing Manzambi has begun working on the pitch but could still be around two weeks away from returning.
“Manzambi is starting to work on the field and maybe he will need two weeks more to join us, more or less,” Emery said.
“Madjo has a small injury and I think he can get progressively better and start training with us as well, but he may need some days more.
“Tammy Abraham as well, he has a small injury and he is going to join us again.
“Hopefully we have strikers ready to play [soon], but this can happen.”
No blame on Unai Emerie but it has to be unheard of starting a PL game without a single striker and if that’s down to Watkins letting the manager, the club, and the fans down by refusing to play then get him out of our club asap. We’re down but we’re not out when our injured players are back together with new signings it will be a different story when we are able to play a full strength team so don’t write us off we will be back
