England knocked out of World Cup as Argentina come from behind to reach final

England have been knocked out of the World Cup at the semi-final stage, losing 2-1 to Argentina.

Thomas Tuchel’s side took the lead in the second half when Anthony Gordon finished from Morgan Rogers’ cross.

But Argentina came from behind again to win, with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez firing in an equaliser from distance.

And substitute Lautaro Martinez headed in from close range from Lionel Messi’s cross in stoppage time to send Argentina through to another World Cup final, where they will face Spain.
