Pep Guardiola says Liverpool and Arsenal’s failure to beat Everton shows how tough it is to win at Goodison Park.

David Moyes said: “I thought for 60 odd minutes we were okay, played well and gave them a good game.

“I think Tarkowski coming off had a big impact. It changed a lot of things and it shouldn’t have. I think their subs did. We didn’t get any control back in the second half.”

On the victory, City’s boss added: “I would say this is a big win. We had to be so smart.

“With five or six games, winning here when Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, Arsenal could not win here. Massively important.”

Following the match, Pep Guardiola declared: “It has been truly, truly an honour to come here to Goodison Park for many years.

“Today I was on the pitch watching the screen, watching all the goals and I said, ‘Wow! This is English football!'”

Goodison Park has hosted some great football matches but that was not one of them.

Nevertheless, post-match reaction will follow. We will hear from both managers shortly.

City were poor for much of the afternoon but they leave with a valuable three points. Guardiola’s side have put the pressure on the other teams that are competing in the top five race.

Everton will be disappointed with that result. For large portions they were the better team and they could have earned a victory in one of Goodison Park’s final matches.

Game over and City have won.

Substitute Mateo Kovacic drills it into the bottom corner and the three points are now secure for the visitors.

It looks like City are going to try to keep the ball for the entirety of injury time.

De Bruyne is withdrawn and receives applause from some of the home supporters in one of his final Premier League matches.

The midfielder can have no complaints as he is shown a yellow card.

Doucoure has the beating of Nunes and after two dummies he takes his shot.

However, Ortega gets a strong hand to it and turns it around the post.

Tarkowski is back on his feet and limps off the pitch but he will not continue.
