FIFA have confirmed that they are investigating what happened in the aftermath of Spain’s World Cup win over Argentina.
Spain won the World Cup thanks for Ferran Torres’ extra-time winner.
But the final whistle was followed by confrontation between the players, with Leandro Paredes among those reacting angrily to the Spain players’ celebrations.
FIFA’s disciplinary committee has now appointed a disciplinary and ethics prosecutor to assess what happened after the final whistle at MetLife stadium.
“Further details will be communicated by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee once the prosecutor’s report has been completed,” FIFA added in their statement.
