Thomas Frank says Pape Sarr’s absence from Tottenham’s Carabao Cup win over Doncaster Rovers was a “minor precaution”.

Spurs beat the League One side 3-0 thanks to goals from Joao Palhinha, Brennan Johnson, as well as an own goal from Jay McGrath.

But Sarr was left out of the squad, and the Spurs boss clarified it was because of a thigh issue.

“Just a minor precaution, a minor stretch to the thigh, so we just didn’t want to take any risk today,” Frank said.

“There’s a good chance he could be ready for Saturday.”

On the Carabao Cup victory, Frank added: “Happy with the win, happy with a clean sheet, happy that we are through to the next round, that was the aim.”
