Thomas Frank says he open to a short-term loan signing at Spurs if the right player is available.

Tottenham have so far added midfielder Conor Gallagher and young Brazilian defender Souza this month.

And Frank insists the club are still working hard on more new signings before Monday’s deadline.

“It’s not that we are not trying, but it’s just that the short-term need to be also with a long-term view,” Frank explained. “I think that’s a big thing.”

However, quizzed on why the long-term is so important given Spurs’ struggles this season, Frank says he is open to a shorter term loan if there is a player that can add quality.

“It’s different between doing a loan that can help us,” Frank said. “That’s different compared to buying a player for 30-40 million, does he really improve us much more than what we’ve got now?

“I think that’s the two different things. That (a loan signing) I’m definitely not saying no to.

“But I also think if you look at the market, it’s not that much happened so far. So when you look across, there’s not many players available.”

  1. Our owners are a complete joke. We are crying out for a left winger, a striker and a number 10 who knows how to create chances and they go out sign a left back that’s not even ready to play and are after another left back that’s in the twighlight years of his career. Then we keep hearing we may sign someone in the last couple of days of the window. We’ll this club should have all our targets lined up before the window opened and should have signed them in the first week. ENIC are a complete and absolute joke and need to go before they do get us relegated.
