Myanmar international Maung Maung Lwin scored the only goal of the game in the second half as United fell to defeat.
The Red Devils flew out to Asia for their post-season tour having only finished their campaign with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.
Several first-team players featured in the game against the ASEAN All-Stars, with Andre Onana, Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro, Patrick Dorgu, Kobbie Mainoo and Rasmus Hojlund among the starters.
Bruno Fernandes, Amad and Alejandro Garnacho were among the substitutes to come on at half-time, meanwhile.
Garnacho was left out of the squad to face Aston Villa amid reports he has been told to leave the club this summer.

The Argentine was left out of the starting line-up for the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham and made his dissatisfaction known in his post-match interviews.
Asked about Garnacho’s future after their final Premier League game, boss Ruben Amorim said: “Garnacho is Manchester United player that is not in the squad today but he is a normal player in our club and I have no news that that will change today.
“Garnacho is one more player of Manchester United. So I don’t know what is going to happen in the future but he is a normal player.”
Manchester United travel to Hong Kong next up to take on a Hong Kong team in the final game of their tour.
