Pep Guardiola admits that Erling Haaland is a doubt ahead of Manchester City’s FA Cup clash against Salford City.

Haaland came off at half-time during City’s last game against Fulham after scoring his side’s third goal.

Speaking ahead of his side’s FA Cup Fourth Round tie against Salford, the City boss said: “He is not 100 per cent but we will see today how he feels.

“It’s not a big issue the doctor said to me but something was disturbing him before the game and during the game. That’s why in the second half he didn’t play.”

John Stones returned to the matchday squad midweek after two months out injured. Guardiola confirmed he could be an option for Salford.

He said: “Fortunately, he’s made it through two or three training sessions and we will see tomorrow if he plays or how many minutes he will play.”

The Spaniard did not entertain questions regarding Bernardo Silva’s future, with the Portuguese international’s contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Guardiola said: “I have no idea on his future. I told him ‘when you make a decision let me know’ but I have no idea.”

The Spaniard was full of praise for Silva though, saying “He can talk but the best leadership is to lead by example. Anyone in the locker room cannot deny that he has that.”
