Recent form
Bayern Munich followed up their narrow defeat to PSG last week with a 3-3 draw against Heidenheim, in which boss Vincent Kompany named a much changed team having already wrapped up the Bundesliga title. Prior to the defeat to PSG, they had won nine games in a row.
PSG also drew at the weekend, a 2-2 tie with Lorient. Unsurprisingly, Luis Enrique also made plenty of changes for the game. They have won nine of the last 11 games in all competitions.
What’s been said?
Bayern boss Kompany: “If I said that I absolutely want to do something completely different, that wouldn’t be a good answer,” Kompany said.
“It’s about offering small details as solutions for the guys. The same goes for Luis Enrique. The guys need to be encouraged in what they’ve done well all season.”
PSG’s Enrique: “When you play this kind of match, against this kind of opposition, who are without doubt the strongest team we have played against, the first thing I want to transmit to the players is that we have a one goal advantage, but that is nothing in football.”
