Eddie Howe is hoping to have Jacob Ramsey back available when Newcastle take on Everton on Saturday.
The midfielder missed the Champions League win over Qarabag on Tuesday with an injury.
But Howe says he is hoping he will train ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash.
“We hope that he will train today,” Howe said.
“So yeah, fingers crossed for tomorrow as well.”
Meanwhile, Howe says Tino Livramento is on track to return early next month.
“We think Tino will be early March,” Howe said. “He’s still on track for that.
“He’s done really well. He’s been training now, not with us but separately running, for a period of time.
“He’s had a really good body of work behind him so I think when he comes back he’ll be in a good place.
“I don’t think it’s too long to wait.”
Lewis Miley is also still sidelined with his leg injury but is getting closer to returning.
“We have just been advised with Lewis to be careful with this injury,” Howe said.
“It was a dead leg, a knock. There was some muscle disruption.
“He has had a couple of injections and I think he has one more to come. I think we’re waiting for a couple of weeks for Lewis. We are being careful to get him back in a good place.”
