Howe gives injury update on Newcastle United trio ahead of Spurs match

Newcastle duo Anthony Gordon and Lewis Miley will be assessed ahead of the clash with Tottenham.

Both missed the 3-2 defeat to Brentford on Saturday through injury.

But Howe is not ruling out them returning for Tuesday night’s trip to north London.

“Miley, I need to see today,” Howe said. “We’ll get another update on his progress. He got a nasty bang to his leg, so it’s like a dead leg that’s dragged on a little bit longer than we thought, so we’ll see how he is.

On Gordon, Howe added: “We’ll make a check on today and see how he’s progressing, hopefully a big improvement in him.”

But midfielder Joelinton has again been ruled out with an adductor issue.
