Klopp asks fans to “Show a bit of class” ahead of United clash

Jurgen Klopp has urged supporters to ‘show some class’ ahead of the game between Liverpool and Manchester United in regards to tragedy chanting.

Chants of this nature were reported during the FA Cup fixture between the two sides last month, and has been an ongoing issue, with fans reportedly chanting distasteful remarks to each other during matches.

Klopp wants to make sure this sort of fan behaviour is abolished ahead of the game this weekend.

“It is super important, I do not hear it on the sidelines, but I heard it happened when told after the game. I think in general it is helpful we educate our kids”, said Klopp.

“Respect, understanding, these sorts of things. I just see two of the biggest football clubs in the world, just show a bit of class in this moment.

“Do not sing this or that, show class. Let us have a fight on the pitch, play football. Lets be happy, if you lose or whatever these kind of things thats fine.

“But show a bit of class, that is my wish, for all of us.”

This is Klopp’s final meeting with Manchester United, a fixture that is one of the stand out games of the season.

Liverpool and United fought in a goalless draw in December, but Erik ten Hag’s side beat Liverpool in the FA Cup last month, winning 4-3 in dramatic circumstances.

But Klopp said he will not miss the battle with Manchester United, as he departs the Reds at the end of the season.

“I have had them often enough, I understand that but what sort of manager would I be if I say I miss the Manchester United games, or the City games!”, said the Liverpool boss.

“I will miss probably all of them, and I will see how I deal with missing football.”
