Live updates from Elland Road as Leeds United take on Manchester City.
After some booing was heard during the break for Muslim players to break their Ramadan fast in the first half, Guardiola said: “It’s the modern world, right?
“You know what happened right now in the world today?
“Respect beliefs, respect diversity, that is the point.
“We didn’t say that. The Premier League said for the fasting, you can have one or two minutes to do that.
“It is what it is. Unfortunate.”
“Rodri, what a player.
“We missed him for a long, long time and now step by step he’s coming back to his best.”
Pep Guardiola on the difficulty of winning without Haaland: “It was. Erling is a massively important player for us.
“If you ask me about the game, we didn’t start well. Leeds are always so intense.
“After that we did what we are good at for the last decade we are together. A thousand million passes, make the vibe of the crowd a little bit more calm and let them run and run.
“But we missed a bit of intention up front to make more movements but when they had more fatigue in the last 15 or 20 minutes (of the first half), we start to pass the ball to try to score a goal. We got it at the end of the first half.
“In the second half we always drop but it didn’t happen today. We were incredibly focused in all departments.
“We defended really well and it was a huge victory for us.”
Match winner Antoine Semenyo speaking to Sky Sports after the game: “It means everything.
“We just want to win all our games on our side and whatever Arsenal do, we just have to wait and see.
“We can only control what we can control, win our games and we’ll see what happens but we’re happy.”
Tempers boiled over after the final whistle, with Leeds boss Daniel Farke receiving a red card for angrily confronting the referee.
The whistle blows for full-time and it is all over. An absolutely massive win for City, as their title hopes survive. A huge goal from Semenyo was the difference and the visitors leave a very tricky stadium with all three points, as Guardiola waves goodbye to the home fans.
Tempers continue to flare on the pitch after a thoroughly well-fought battle. It was a strong performance from Leeds and on any other day they would be expecting to leave the game with at least a point. Their battle for survival will continue in midweek.
