Liverpool have agreed a £116m deal to sign Germany attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to BBC Sport’s Sami Mokbel, the fee agreed is £100 million with a further £16 million added on. Wirtz will now become the second player from Leverkusen to sign for Liverpool this summer, after Jeremie Frimpong joined earlier this month.

The Athletic report that Leverkusen are looking at the Reds’ defender Jarell Quansah, but it will take at least £40 million to prize the 22-year-old from Anfield.

BBC Sport also say that Tottenham are interested in signing Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo this transfer window. Having already appointed Mbeumo’s former head coach Thomas Frank, the Cameroonian is now reported ‘intrigued’ by the north Londoners.

Elsewhere, according to Sky Sports, Manchester United have entered the race for Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike.

Frankfurt are demanding £85 million for the 22-year-old, who has four years left on his current deal.

Sky also say Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko is getting interest from Italian side AC Milan.

The 28-year-old Ukrainian has one-year left on his deal at the Gunners.

According to the Mail, the say Mikel Arteta’s side have asked Dutch side Ajax about a potential move for defender Jorrel Hato.

The 19-year-old versatile defender has made 92 appearances for the Dutch giant since making his debut in 2022.

Givemesport say Liverpool are considering a move for Napoli and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray.

The 26-year-old recently turned down the chance to move to the Saudi Pro League.

Finally the Sun report that Arsenal are interested in signing Athletic Bilbao’s winger Nico Williams, with the Basque side “calm” over the 22-year-old’s future.

The Gunners face tough competition from German Champions Bayern Munich, who are also interested in the Spanish international.
