Man City star to miss start of WSL season

Manchester City have confirmed that Vivianne Miedema will miss the start of the season after sustaining a knee injury.

The Dutch international picked up the injury in training, although City have confirmed that the issue is separate from the previous knee injuries Miedema has experienced.

The 30-year-old is now working with the club’s medical staff as she looks to return to action as soon as possible.

City did not provide a timescale for Miedema’s recovery but confirmed she will be unavailable for the start of the new campaign.
