Emery declared: “We wanted to win. We always have to build our mentality. It would have been a good point but not enough… I was not happy with one point.

“We were competing and trying to win.”

Emery continued: “Disappointed but overall I have to tell the players that I am proud of them. Have to take positive energy for Saturday and the rest of the season.”

“Today we lost but there are still matches to play, still points to play for. We will have chance to get Champions League football.”
