Live updates as Manchester City face Brentford in a must-win clash if they are to keep their fading title hopes alive.
“I love it. I love to be here again.
“Finish minimum second again this season, so I love to be here.
“I didn’t enjoy last season, in that moment we are fighting to qualify for the Champions League, it was so difficult.
“The Carabao Cup is in our pockets, we play the final of the FA Cup at Wembley. It’s the most beautiful game of the season. We live it many times and it’s so beautiful.
“Tension? No. I feel like the job has been well done. When you arrive there, fighting against Arsenal, being there after all the time and many changes that happened, the spirit of the team, how they help each other, in every training session. I saw it behind the scenes, it’s a joy to work with them, how they fight, the experienced players.”
“I don’t know. We are fighting like quite similar in the past with Liverpool, against a colossal team. Final of the Champions League, didn’t lose one game in this competition, have been top of the league almost all season.
“It’s not in our hands now, so they have to drop points, but the only thing we can do is Wednesday win again, play the final of the FA Cup, Bournemouth which in this moment is not the best place to go, Aston Villa. Our calendar is really, really demanding.
“It’s just two weeks then the season will be over. I think in the last ten or 11 games we won everything except Everton. Yeah, you can lose, but try to do our job and we’ll see what happens.”
“I told him if he wants to become a better player, you have to win games by yourself. It’s not enough to do a good cross, good action, you have to win games.
“Now I’m pretty sure they are going to block him and he has to be clever, make an extra pass to shoot and another player will be free.
“Everyone knows he made an incredible step up. I’m Jeremy Doku and I’m going to win games. The big players always have that mentality.”
“I don’t need to take a look at the table because I know the table in my head. I know the opponents and the goal difference and everything.”
Brentford boss Keith Andrews: “I liked a lot of what we did today, but I didn’t like the scoreline.”
Man City’s Jeremy Doku: “I’m an instinct player. Today it’s working out. I scored some goals, I’ve always played with instinct but now the goals are coming. I haven’t been a different player.”
City get the job done, with a very good performance in the second half.
Guardiola’s side have given their confidence a boost and their goal difference. They will now hope for a favour from West Ham tomorrow.
City have a third and its Marmoush who scores it.
It’s a brilliant move, starting with Foden and Silva on the edge of their own box. Savinho carries it forwards and finds Haaland, who turns creator and plays it through for Marmoush.
Doku is taken off, with Savinho replacing him.
There will be five minutes of injury time.
The referee is not managing things particularly well here, as tempers flare again.
It ends with yellow cards for Henderson and Nunes.
Kelleher makes an incredible save to again deny Foden.
The Englishman fires at goal but the goalkeeper somehow reacts to flick it over for a corner.

After losing possession, O’Reilly pulls down Ouattara to stop him escaping.
He receives a yellow card.
Schade goes down in the penalty area next to Nunes and there are huge appeals for a penalty.
The referee sees no foul and VAR agrees with him.
Andrews makes his second substitution of the day.
Ouattara replaces Damsgaard.
It opens up for Foden inside the area and he strikes well at goal.
However, Kelleher reacts well to make the save.
Hickey is replaced by Janelt.
The visitors now need a goal.
Doku once again curls it into the top corner and City lead!
It is worked from a short corner and he dribbles into the box before curling it into the far top corner.
Guardiola sends on Foden and Marmoush.
Reijnders and Cherki make way.
Thiago is clean through on goal and it is a huge opportunity.
Donnarumma makes a massive save to deny him and keep it level.
It opens up for Semenyo to shoot from the edge of the area, but he blasts over.
Foden, Marmoush and Savinho are all warming up on the sideline.
Cherki takes the kick-off for the hosts and we are back underway in the second half.
No changes from either manager so far.
The first half ends without a goal. City have been on top and close to finding an opener but have been unable to beat Kelleher so far. Doku has been threatening throughout and his good form looks to be continuing.
Brentford have not shown much so far. Andrews’ side have sat in and defended well, and will be happy with that half. They will always carry a threat on the break.
