LIVE updates from the Etihad Stadium as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City take on Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the Premier League.
City survive the late pressure and secure a massive three points in the title race.
Guardiola’s side close the gap at the top of the table to just two points. Arsenal will take on north London rivals Tottenham tomorrow afternoon.
Barnes volleys at goal but it goes behind for a Newcastle corner with just seconds remaining.
Pope is coming up from the back as they desperately chase an equaliser.
City go so close to a third goal again, which would seal the result.
Pope makes the save to keep out a well-struck Foden volley.

These next few minutes will be massively important for City.
Joelinton is finally booked after his fourth foul in just a few minutes.
There can be no complaints.
Foden replaces Semenyo, who looked hurt after a nasty challenge from Joelinton.
The Brazilian made three fouls in little more than a minute and escaped without a booking, much to City’s dismay.
A brilliamt ball from Cherki puts through Ait-Nouri, ans City are in two against one, with Haaland at the back post.
However the Algerian gets the ball tangled in his feet at the final moment and the chance is wasted.
Elanga and Gordon are taken off by Howe.
The Newcastle boss sends on Osula and Murphy.
The pressure is growing on City now, as Newcastle search for an equaliser.
The roles have now been reversed, with the visitors now on top and the hosts threatening on the break.
Trippier is the latest Newcastle player to be shown a yellow card, as he brings down Ait-Nouri.
A number of the visitors’ players are now walking a tightrope.
A brilliant kick from Donnarumma finds Haaland in space.
The Norwegian beats two men and plays it in to Cherki, who slides it through for Semenyo. However Pope is able to deny the Ghanian.
Barnes is beaten by Numes and then pulls him back.
It is a fast yellow card for the winger who has only just come on.
Woltemade and Willock are withdrawn by Howe.
Newcastle will be strengthened by the introduction of Joelinton and Barnes.
Cherki comes on to replace Marmoush.
The Egyptian had a couple of chances in the first half, but could not continue his goalscoring record against Newcastle.
Burn wrestles Haaland before hacking him to the ground in a very similar fashion to the challenge that he was booked for in the first half.
He is perhaps lucky not to receive a second yellow card, despite the protests from the City players.
Silva now sees himself booked.
City’s captain feels he got the ball and it is unclear whether the card is for the challenge or his protestations.
Willock is shown a yellow card for a pull on Silva.
No complaints from the Newcastle midfielder.

As suspected, Khusanov replaces Dias at half-time.
Dias had struggled with the pace of Gordon, but that should not be an issue for the Uzbek.
An entertaining first half comes to an end with City in the lead. There were chances for both sides and it could have gone either way, but it is fair to say the hosts have been on top.
Newcastle’s pace has caused City problems on the break, and it would not be a surprise to see Khusanov introduced in the second half. Howe does not have the luxury of defensive options on his bench and will need improvements from his backline in the second half.
City charge forward and an opportunity is carved out for Marmoush again.
However Pope gets down to make the save.
Marmoush weaves through the midfield and strikes at goal from range.
The Egyptian’s effort looks to be flying towards the top corner but goes just wide.
Some impressive footwork from Haaland sees him find space for a shot.
He fires from the edge of the box, but drags his effort just wide.
Tonali delivers the free-kick and it is headed home by Burn.
However the flag goes straight up for offside and VAR quickly confirms the decision. No goal.
Gordon has been causing Dias all sorts of problems, and the Portuguese defender now picks up a yellow card.
He puts his arm across the forward to stop him getting away and is booked.
