What a brilliant performance
A day to remember
The king
FULL TIME 3-1

The tie finishes 3-1 and Plymouth’s memorable FA Cup run comes to an end.

The visitors were perhaps lucky to score with their only shot of the game but they still gave a great account of themselves. Plymouth will head home with their heads held high.

City were not at their best but they got the job down. With a number of top teams already out of the competition, City are favourites to lift the FA Cup trophy in May. They take another step towards that eventuality as they advance to the quarter finals.

GOAL 3-1

De Bruyne scores and that is game over now.

City get in behind and after Haaland’s attempt is saved, the Norwegian takes a moment before picking out De Bruyne to tap home.

90'
Plymouth threaten

The game is not over yet and Plymouth get forward to remind us of that.

An equaliser would send us to extra time.

O'Reilly's second goal

Plymouth sending men forward

With just five minutes remaining now, the visitors are starting to send men forward.

Plymouth will not go down without a fight although their only shot of the game so far has been their goal.

83'
Foden off

Foden is replaced by Nico Gonzalez for the closing minutes.

Perhaps a defensive minded change from Guardiola with the result still not secure.

GOAL 2-1

Nico O’Reilly scores again!

City’s academy graduate has a free header off the corner and he makes no mistake. A special day for him.

The visitors have defended resolutely all night and they continue to as we approach the final 15 minutes.

City are turning the screw but Plymouth are still not cracking.

Chance for Haaland

After a City corner the ball falls to Haaland at the back post.

However the Norwegian striker fires over.

Kevin De Bruyne goes close

Kevin De Bruyne takes an audacious effort from a tight angle after a short corner.

Plymouth’s goalkeeper is almost caught out but manages to flick the ball over the bar.

64'
Triple change from Plymouth

Mustapha Bundu, Bali Mumba and Darko Gyabi come off.

Micheal Baidoo, Jordan Houghton and Rami Al Hajj are sent on.

It is James McAtee that is withdrawn as Haaland enters the action.

A missed opportunity for the City graduate who ha snot made his minutes count today.

Haaland preparing to come on

Erling Haaalnd has been called back to the bench and is preparing to come on.

The Norwegian will look to make an impact.

Great save to deny City

Hazard produces a great stop to deny Bernardo Silva at cross range.

The Portuguese international is found inside the six yard box but he does not convert.

49'
Firepower on the bench

Erling Haaland, Omar Marmoush, Savinho and Jeremy Doku are all warming up on the sideline.

Plenty of attacking options for Guardiola if he feels more changes are necessary.

Second half start

The second half is underway!

Can Plymouth regain the lead to secure a famous cup upset? Or will  City step it up in the second period and prevail?

45'
First substitution

Ruben Dias comes on in place of Nathan Ake.

Likely a pre-mediated substitution as both continue to manage their fitness.

Ruben Dias warming up

Ruben Dias has stayed out to warm up on the pitch at half-time.

Expect the defensive leader to be sent on sooner rather than later for the home side.

City's equaliser

The goal that gave Plymouth the lead

HALF-TIME 1-1

The referee’s whistle goes to end the half with the scores level.

Plymouth could not hold their lead until the break but they will still be mightily encouraged by their performance so far.

City and Guardiola have not reached the levels that they would expect and changes are likely to come in the second period.

46'
GOAL 1-1

City equalise before half-time.

Kevin De Bruyne’s free-kick is met by  youngster Nico O’Reilly who heads home to level the score.
