Live updates as Manchester United take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Carrick excited by what more is to come from Sesko

“He’s had a huge impact and he’s making big improvements.

“A little bit is getting used to being here, the feeling and what it means to play and things we can take for granted sometimes.

“He’s desperate to do well, he works so hard. He thinks about it an awful lot but he’s an absolute pleasure to work with.

“Today he started and it was a fantastic goal so he’s bringing an awful lot.

“He’s put the work in, he’s stayed positive, he knows where he wants to improve and he’s pretty clear on that. He’s a good player and that’s why he’s here.

“He’s got great strengths, it’s clear to see, scoring different types of goals. He’s such a real threat so really excited about where he can get to without getting too carried away.

“He’s got huge potential, he’s so young and it’s still early days for him but he’s doing fantastic.”

Carrick praises Man Utd's response

Michael Carrick said the character his side showed to come from behind today is hugely encouraging.

“It’s about how do we react. It’s been going in our favour. I said to them it’s something I’ve been waiting for, this moment, to see what are we going to do about it and the boys responded ever so well.

“It was a big thing for us.”

Glasner continued

“For me it is not a penalty, maybe a red card and a foul outside the box,” Glasner continued. “But it is smart from Cunha to go down in the box.”

“The foul starts outside the box but maybe it is a little bit of an Old Trafford bonus.”

Glasner wants Crystal Palace to get 'consistency back'

“It’s important for us to get consistency back. We play a great first half, 60 minutes, but not consistently over the full game and the result is not what we could get.”

Glasner's reaction

Oliver Glasner has reacted to a ‘very harsh’ red card and he feels ‘the penalty and red card changed the game’.

“It still feels that it was the wrong decision,” said the Palace boss. “But we must accept it.”

Glasner questions decision to give penalty and send off Lacroix

Oliver Glasner on the decision to send off Lacroix and award a penalty against his side: “The red card changed the game completely.

“I think it’s a very hard decision, penalty and red card, because it started outside the box and usually the foul is committed where it starts.

“Matheus Cunha was very smart to wait until he’s inside the box and falling then.”

Full-time (2-1)

The final whistle goes and it finishes 2-1 to United, and Sesko is the match winner once again. There is definitely room for improvement for Carrick’s side, but they will be delighted with the three points which take them up to third in the table.

The penalty and red card certainly flipped the game on its head and left Palace with a mammoth task to get anything from this match. Before that it had been a good performance from Glasner’s side, who certainly seem to be recovering in form.
