Live updates from Old Trafford as Manchester United take on Fulham in the Premier League.

Carrick delighted for Sesko after late winner

“Huge moment. So, so pleased, everyone in the changing room – players, staff, delighted for him. Absolutely delighted for him.

“The reception he got when he went back into the changing room told us everything.

“It wasn’t so much his confidence. He’s been fantastic. We’ve worked with him a lot over the last couple of weeks. He’s been bright in training, he’s done extra, the coaches have done a lot with him.

“Ben’s a big talent. He’s got so many positive things. Today, is a huge goal because as a striker you’re here to score a winner in front of the Stretford End late like that. It’s kind of what you dream of really.

“After missing a chance, to go again and put that away, so, so pleased for him. He really deserves it.”

Carrick praises Man Utd players' character

Man Utd boss Michael Carrick: “I knew today was going to be a really tough game.

“I’ve been getting questions all week about what we’re going to do to break down a low block. Fulham were never going to do that.

“They’re a really, really good team. We know today was going to be a big challenge.

“The character once we’ve had that big setback, a huge setback in the 90th minute, to do that off the back of what we did last week after a setback is probably the most pleasing thing. Keep the belief, keep the confidence.”

Full-time (3-2)

The final whistle does go and United get the job done. It took a chaotic finish to get across the line but Carrick makes it three from three during his interim spell. It is a result that is not as impressive as his previous two, but is still significant.

Fulham and Silva will certainly feel that they could, and perhaps should, have got more from that game. Nevertheless, it was a strong performance from the visitors, who have real potential to claim a good finish in the table this season.

90'+9
United holding on (3-2)

There cannot be long left now and United look like they will hold on to the lead this time.

Fulham are once again searching for an equaliser.

90'+6
Final United change (3-2)

Amongst all the madness, Carrick makes his final substitution.

Yoro replaces Mbeumo for the final few minutes.

90'+4
GOAL 3-2

United respond immediately and it is Sesko with the goal.

Fernandes finds the Slovenian in the box and he takes a touch before finishing in the top corner. We are back where we were four minutes ago!

90'+1
GOAL 2-2

Fulham have the equaliser and what a strike that is from Kevin!

The Brazilian cuts in from the left-hand side and curls perfectly into the top corner. Lammens could get nowhere near it and we are now level with seven minutes or so to play.

Nine minutes of additional time have been added on.

United fans groan as the board is held up.

Anywhere will do for United as they clear the ball up the pitch.

The Reds are inviting pressure on as they fail to push up from the edge of their own area.

Jimenez is in behind and this time the referee points to the spot.

Maguire wipes out the Mexican after his shot and a penalty is awarded. The Englishman is also shown a yellow card.

81'
Huge Fulham chance (2-0)

Jimenez is picked out in the penalty area but his touch gets away from his slightly.

His effort is eventually deflected off Maguire and Lammens turns it round the post for a corner.

79'
Another Fulham change (2-0)

It is starting to feel like this game may now be beyond Fulham, who make another change.

Cairney comes on for Chukwueze.

75'
Sesko hits the post (2-0)

Sesko is denied by the woodwork with his first touch of the game, just moments after coming on.

It is crossed into the Slovenian whose header beats Leno but comes out of the post. He heads his own rebound back at goal but this time it goes over.

Carrick responds with a double substitution of his own.

Sesko and Ugarte replace the Brazilian duo, and the two goalscorer today, Cunha and Casemiro.

71'
Fulham double substitution (2-0)

Robinson is replaced by Sessegnon and Smith-Rowe makes way for Kevin.

Silva will hope these changes can inspire a comeback from his team, who are not completely out of this just yet.

69'
No goal (2-0)

After four minutes, VAR is finally able to confirm that Cuenca is offside.

The goal will not count, although it could still inspire a reaction from Fulham who are readying changes on the sideline.

65'
Fulham score (2-0)

Jimenez takes the free-kick instead of Wilson, and fires straight at the wall.

However in the aftermath it comes to Cuenca in the six-yard box and he taps home. There are immediate question marks over an offside and VAR is taking its time to check the potential goal.

64'
Casemiro booked (2-0)

Casemiro is booked for a foul and gives up a free-kick in a dangerous area.

Wilson has already gone close from one free-kick this afternoon and this could provide a route back into the game for Fulham.

63'
Fulham look deflated (2-0)

That second goal has certainly seemed to have taken the wind out of Fulham’s sails a little bit.

The visitors have lost momentum and look somewhat deflated after falling two goals behind.

56'
GOAL 2-0

United go up the other end and double their lead, as Cunha finds the back of the net.

Fulham give possession up cheaply and Casemiro slides a ball through for his Brazilian teammate. Cunha strikes first time and fires into the roof of the net.

52'
Wilson denied (1-0)

Fulham have a free-kick on the edge of the box and Wilson steps up and strikes it terrifically.

Lammens is able to keep it out but a scramble ensues, with Berge attempting to poke it home. The ball is eventually turned behind for a corner.

49'
Fulham go close (1-0)

Iwobi’s cross finds Chukwueze at the back-post and he plays it back across into the middle.

However, Martinez is just able to clear before the ball runs through for Jimenez to tap it home.
