LIVE updates from Old Trafford as Michael Carrick’s Manchester United take on Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

Carrick on Rashford

Carrick continued: “Yeah, really pleased with Marcus. I thought we dealt with the whole day as normal, really, and I’m sure it was nice for him to be back and starting games here and enjoying being involved in a good performance really. It was his first start for a few today, but I thought he’d done particularly well in not-easy circumstances.

“He’s one of our own, he’s living his dream, playing here now and trying to be successful and win.”

Carrick on Mainoo

“I understand Bruno gets a lot of credit today,” said Carrick. “And he deserves that as well, but I thought Kobbie was immense in the middle of the pitch for us and underpinned the performance of the team.”

Full-time (5-2)

A much better second half display from Carrick’s side, although the eventual result does flatter them somewhat. There is still plenty of room for improvement, but it was Fernandes who proved to be the talisman once again, firing his side to victory.

Ipswich put in a really good account of themselves for the opening 60 minutes of the match. However, after falling behind the visitors’ heads seemed to go down and there were gaps all over their defence across the final half an hour.

Mbeumo booked (5-2)

Limping himself, Mbeumo puts in a lazy challenge out wide.

The United attacker picks up a yellow card.

Mbuemo finds Dorgu at the back-post, but his header is just kept out.
